baby girl...

forgive me for not posting lately...

but, this little girl arrived last week and has been occupying a bit of my time.

she couldn't be more perfect! so girly and dainty!

it's been fun having a girl around already!

and, still no name.... the mr. and i both have a final choice, but it just so happens it isn't the same name.... i'll let you know who wins..

ok, so remember this cute headband i made months back for me inspired by this ruby sue headband?

well, last week i finally got around to starting on some little girl things... [it's about time, since she's going to here soon..] and, i made a mini-me version for baby girl.

i know it may be a little over the top to have feathers and all on a baby headband. but, i couldn't resist being twiners. now, i just need a little head to put it on.

and, here's a few others i made. i made poppies using what i learn in this tutorial i purchased from foundling.
you make the poppies by burning/singeing fabric. it was kind of scary at first, i'll admit.. i kept lighting the darn thing on fire. but, after you get the hang of it, it's kind of fun!

i'm all on board for fun girl things to make. there are so many cute things to make for girls vs. boys. i always had the hardest time finding fun things to make for z man. and with baby girl, there are endless possibilities..

oh, and p.s. props to all you who make and sell headbands... it's super hard work, and i'm not sure how many times i burnt myself with the glue gun. i think i'll stick to making jewelry.

these little recycled rocker tees turned baby gowns are just darling.
i'm dying to make one. my little girly is in desperate need of some clothes, i'm afraid she'll be naked forever because i don't have too many girl things yet. i better get crackin' i have less than two months before her arrival.

my first order of business for my expected baby girl was to order some lou and lee headbands.

so, remember when i used to sell the onesies i make? well, i guess i kind of stopped making around the time my little z man grew out of the onesie stage.

yes, i am fully aware that you are all probably so sick of looking at the onesies i make for z man, but i guess i just can't help myself.

here's a new batch for the little dude. i got together with some friends and we made some for our little ones. it was fun to try a new way to embellish onesies.

i made a few the night we got together, and when i got home my husband loved them, but insisted that he come up with a cool one. so, next thing i knew i was handed a copy of mr. cobra commander [of g.i. joe i'm told] so, i was able make the last one yesterday and i quite like it. my husband thinks is the coolest onesies ever...

p.s. i probably should have taken a picture of the first one before z man had his way with it and i fished it out of the laundry bin, dirty and crumpled. oh well..

oneity...

i finally got the chance to pop into oneity after reading about it so much on one of my favorite blogs your heart out. and i just loved all of their children clothes. so cute, and the prices are great! i even found myself walking out with some sweet little girl things.. the funny thing is i don't even have a little girl.
but, don't worry i did get my little z man some cute petit bateau shorts.

thanks for all the nice comments about my baby onesies! i really appreciate it. i'll have to think more seriously about selling them as i never intended to. it's just been a fun thing for me to do for my baby and for friends babies. some of them do take a lot of time, so i'm not sure how worth it would be for a small profit after materials, but we'll see.. sometimes it's not all about the profit, right? i do enjoy making them. so, i'll let you know if i start selling them anytime soon.

here's a few more i've made for z man. i couldn't help but make a little "z" shirt for the guy.

i just love making things for babies. it's been a lot of fun to make cute shirts for my little z man over the past little while!

i was so excited to get to make some baby gifts for some friends upcoming little ones, especially the girl ones since i never get to make the girly things yet.
here are some fun onesies i've been making lately. the top "pirate" one is for my z man and the rest were gifts.

i also made a diaper wipe case for my friends shower. i know i said like forever ago that i'd post the instructions to make these.. and, i'm finally working on it. it's taking a lot more time than i thought to put them together with step by step pictures and all that i thought i'd post the pattern on my etsy shop for $3.00. is that mean? what do you think? i'd love to do it for free, but it's taking a lot of my time. so, i'll let you know when that is available. should be soon.

i've been working on all sorts of projects lately, so hopefully i can share them all soon. one is a gift, so i have to wait a bit to share. but, in the meantime, here's a new onesie i made for z man. it's so sad that he grows out of his other ones so often, i feel like i'm constantly making a new batch.
