3 Key Winter Fashion Pieces with Evereve...

Fashion Blogger Evereve Winter Fall Fashion Armelle Blog
Scarf: Oversized Plaid Scarf | Cardigan: Park City Cardigan by Peyton Jensen |
Jeans: Farrah Skinny Jeans by AG denim | Clogs: Similar (and on sale!)

Whether you like it or not, Winter is here, and I have been on the search for some key Winter staples in my wardrobe.  I am excited to partner with Evereve today to bring you 3 Key Must Have Fashion Pieces You Need this Winter!  Evereve is a women's clothing store that specifically curates each piece with a mom in mind.  Each piece they sell is well thought out for a fashion loving mom, that will fit her lifestyle.  They have more than 50 retail stores coast to coast, and opened their first store in Utah a few years ago!

I have been hunting for the perfect pair of jeans that you don't need to tug and pull on to keep them up, that have just enough stretch to keep you comfortable and looking good, with the right softness in the denim.

Evereve formally known as Hot Mama is my new go-to spot for quality designer denim, and they had a perfect range of options for this Mama of three.
It is so important to invest in a good pair of quality jeans.  Back when I was having babies, and nursing, and having babies, my size would fluctuate and I didn't invest in a good quality pair of jeans for a while.  But, boy is there a difference in the overall quality, feel, and durability.

I went into my local Evereve in Utah, and probably tore apart their dressing rooms on my quest for the best pair of jeans I could find, and find it I did!

They are the Farrah Skinny Jeans by AG denim.  They really fit so well, and are a new staple in my wardrobe!  I feel so comfortable wearing them all day, and they stay up when I'm out chasing my kids.  I was happy to find an outfit I felt both comfortable and stylish in for some Family pictures!

My next winter staple I have been on the hunt for is a long cardigan.  I have loved seeing long cardigans make a come back!  They are so versatile and can be worn with denim, or even a dress!

I found this Park City cardigan (love the name!) by Peyton Jensen at Evereve that I fell in love with it.  It is so soft and lightweight enough to keep you warm, but not make you too toasty while inside this winter.  I have already worn it several times this winter, and receive compliments every time I wear it.

And, the last key winter piece I was looking out for was a statement scarf.
I love a good statement piece, and in the winter a scarf serves that purpose, and keeps you warm on those snowy days!  I fell in love with this Oversized Plaid Scarf from Evereve, and have worn it with so many things already this winter.  It is really versatile, and can be worn with a dress, coat, or with a simple pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

I'm happy to be set with some key winter staples that I will be wearing over and over again throughout the season, and most importantly feel confident in!  So, what are some of your favorite winter fashion pieces?

Family Travel: Hyatt Regency Resort Huntington Beach ...

Continuing on with our travels in Southern California, we made our way to Huntington Beach.   There is just something about that ocean air, it heals everything I'm convinced.  No trip to Southern California is complete without a visit to the beach.  Huntington Beach was the perfect place to relax for a few days, and enjoy the beautiful California sun.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa.  It was such a beautiful location right on the Pacific coast highway, and the grounds were impeccable.  We had the most gorgeous view of the ocean from our balcony that the entire family enjoyed.

This is the perfect place to take a break from any of the southern California parks to like Disney or Knotts Berry Farm.  I like doing a park for a day or two, then heading off to the Beach for some more relaxing family time.

The Hyatt Regency is truly a Resort.  You could really just stay there and have all that you need.  They have three pool areas, one especially for kids with waterslides, and the water was nice and heated.  There are full spa services, restaurants, and an impressive fitness center.  You could truly spend all your time there, and relax.  My kids were in heaven!  We ending up getting a large 3 room suite, and the kids were so thrilled to have their own room and TV!  It was nice to be able to spread out more and have a bit more of a normal sleeping routine while away from home.

We advantage of the children's pool, and  took a late night swim, and it was nice to warm up by the fire.
We were able to try a few of the restaurants on-site at the Hyatt Regency.

We went to Pete's Sunset Grill for dinner on our first night.  The location is beautiful, and the name is accurate, they face the ocean with some beautiful sunsets!  The food is inspired by local favorites and from destination surf spots around the world.

Pete's Sunset Grill was very kid friendly, they even brought out a blanket for our little four year old Thomas that fell asleep before dinner and took a nice nap on the bench.  The kids enjoyed the kids meal, and they even sent us with some food to-go for our tired traveler that was feeling a little under the weather.

My husband got the Char Siu Bowl with Shrimp.  I think what made the dish was the fried egg on the top.  I was a little jealous of his dish, it was really amazing!  A fried egg on rice with shrimp and vegetables, totally something we'd love!

One of my favorite things we ate, maybe in the entire trip was the Druken Goat Cheese appetizer.   When I read Goat cheese I was thinking it would be the typical soft goat cheese, but instead it was a Spanish goat cheese that came in slices topped with raw honey and marcona almonds.  It was amazing, my kind of dish!
We also tried the breakfast at the Watertable right off the lobby at the Hyatt Regency.
I got the zesty lemon blueberry pancakes, and normally I'm a savory breakfast person, but they were so good!  The rest of my family go their breakfast buffet with a large variety of options.  Made to order omelettes, fruits, cereal.  They loved getting to choose whatever they wanted, which meant lots of captain crunch was consumed.  While I vacation, I suppose.
After dinner our first night, we headed down to the beach for a beach bonfire.  I have always wanted to do a bonfire at the beach, so I was really looking forward to it!
We were met by a Hyatt beach attendant where he set up our chairs and bonfire, and provided all the fix-ins for s'more and hot chocolate.
At first it was a little windy and chilly, but as soon as the wind died down, and we could feel the warmth of the fire, (and hot chocolate in our bellies) we were able to roast marshmallows, make s'mores and tell campfire stories and snuggle by the fire.

It was exactly what I envisioned a California Beach Bonfire to be.  I think we will always have good memories from that night telling stories, and spending time as a family.  Vacation time is my absolute favorite, you always seem to remember memories from family vacations the most, which is why they are so important to me.  I hope my kids will always remember our fun times together and look back on them with fondness.

Thanks for the amazing stay Huntington Beach Hyatt Regency Resort, we really enjoyed our time and lasting memories we made. (all thoughts and opinions are my own)

Family Travel: Buena Park

We had a little time left in Buena Park California before heading to our next destination, so we decided to check out the Ralph B. Clark Regional Park.

My little four year old Thomas is very into dinosaurs at the moment, and wants to be a Paleontologist when he grows up.  We hoped to check out the Los Coyotes Paleontology Museum, but when we arrived the doors were locked.  They do only open at certain hours, so it is suggested that you call ahead.  We had one sad little dino lover, but definitely plan to go back.  He still asks us when we are going to go back!  They have many fossils on display, including a 9 million year old whale skeleton, possibly the only complete ice age whale fossil in existence.

Instead, we walked around the park, and looked at the ducks in the pond and played on the playgrounds.  We will have to come back and check out more!

Family Travel: Knott's Berry Farm ...

During our stay in Buena Park California, we were able to spend the day at Knott's Berry Farm on my husband's birthday! Both my husband and I haven't been since we were kids, and it was so much fun to re-live some fond memories we had of going there as children with our own children!

Things have changed a lot since I was at Knott's last, and they had so many amazing family rides and rollercoasters.  I was a total kid again on the Xcelerator.  I even rode it by myself, because I knew I'd regret it if I didn't.  Seriously, one of the best roller coasters I have been on in a while!  I couldn't stop smiling after I got off.  What a rush!!  I loved every second of it.  If you're looking for a good mix of rollercoaster and rides for kids, I would strongly recommend Knott's.  The best of both worlds!

The kids were so excited to go, they had their Snoopy ears ready at the hotel early in the morning, and couldn't wait to head out for the day.  I was surprised that there were so many rides for my kids, especially in Camp Snoopy.  My oldest and I had a great time on some of the rollercoasters.  We braved Montezooma's Revenge together.  I totally remember it being the BIG one when I was a kid!

The kids ran around, went on rides, ate junk food, watched a wild west show, met Snoopy and Linus.  They really had the time of their lives!  My kids probably rode the little drop Woodstock's Airmail ride at minimum of eight times in a row.  They were in heaven!

Things to know about visiting Knott's Berry Farm:
  • You can purchase tickets online, or check out hotel packages that include admission to the park.
  • Parking for the day is $17.  It is a little bit of a walk to your car, so be sure to bring everything you need with you.  We left our jackets in the car, and when it got chilly later it was a bit of a walk to go grab them. They have lockers if you need to store any items you don't want to carry around.
  • There are several kid's options in Camp Snoopy if you are going with young children.
  • There are also a good variety of legit Roller Coasters!  Most of the height requirements are 48 inches, but there are a few over 52 inches.  Which is why I rode the Xcelerator alone, ha!  I think my oldest was a little relieved that he didn't quite make the cut.
  • Check the show schedule.  My kids enjoyed one of their Wild West shows, they only do the shows are certain times throughout the day, so be sure to check the schedule.
  • There are a lot of dining options inside the park with different varieties.  There is also the famous Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant just outside the park.
  • Knott's Berry Farm honors Military with Free Military Days Nov 21-Dec 20, 2015.  Applies for all US Veterans or active duty and a guest.
  • For discounted admission tickets, head to visitBuenaPark.com
